To Overcome; to conquer or defeat, to lick or master, to prevail over or subdue, to surmount or triumph over. You might ask, “What or who are we learning to overcome?” Or “Where is the battle and what does it look like?” We battle darkness! (Ephesians 6:12} “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” “There is no neutral ground in the universe; every square inch, every split second, is claimed by God and counter-claimed by Satan.” (C.S. Lewis) The ongoing spiritual battles? The battle is against the Adamic sin nature within each of us. It is a battle to the death. We must die daily to our own will. Only by the power of the Holy Spirit working is us can we be "Over Comers". (Zechariah 4:6)  “ ….. Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” Paul tells us how to be "Over Comers" and how to prepare for this battle in Ephesians 6:13-17. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, And having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you are able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one. And take the helmet of Salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. We are not initially born "Over Comers", but when we are born again the process of sanctification begins. With the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit, we learn to be "Over Comers" as we work out our salvation!  You are invited to join us in this exciting journey with God!
